Time to get back to one of my favorite pastimes of exploring sweet little English villages. It was soooo cold on Saturday, but very good for us to get out of the house for some fresh air. We somehow found ourselves in Great Milton - a lovely village full of thatched cottages, large country houses, a pub, a post office, a village green, a church, and even a large manor house. I will let the photos do the rest of the talking...

Hello from a reader who enjoys your blog, found while reading up on different House Hunters (a preferred TV show!) episodes, I believe. I especially appreciate the tasteful style and thoughtful perspective of your posts. Your photos of this village are lovely and inspire me to ask, if you don't mind, what sort of camera you used. (I don't mean to suggest that the quality of the photos is due to the camera and not to your abilities as a photographer; I just find it unusual to see such sharp and crisp landscapes, and would love to know what kind of instrument helped yield them!) Thanks and best wishes, Anne
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, thanks for your very kind comment. I use a Nikon D3000 with a 35mm 1.8 lens. This is a great camera for an entry level DSLR camera, but I'm hoping to upgrade to something nicer eventually when I have the funds. I also edit my photos in Photoshop to make them lighter and warmer and a bit more sharp.
Deletesorry, the above comment was by Kris.... I guess I am logged in as my husband!
DeleteThank you for your reply and the camera information, Kris! Blessings to you and yours! ~Anne
DeleteWhat a lovely photo walk. I enjoyed seeing this town. Such wonderful things to photograph. Hard to pick a favorite, but I do love the road signs.
ReplyDeleteAlways great to wrap up warm and get outside in winter, very uplifting. Our favourite past time too - rambling round little English villages. They have certain similar qualities and yet each one is unique. This one is not known to us, but not far either, looks a must visit! Lovely photographs. Minerva ~
ReplyDeleteI love exploring England on the weekends. It is one of our favourite pastimes here in Bath. Love those thatched roofs! So beautiful.
